The answer is clear when you apply a "Necessary or Sufficient" standard to assess it.
Is it "sufficient" to have money to be completely happy? No. No of course not. And this is where examples of love and health and quality of life come in.
Is it "necessary" to have money to be completely happy? Oh, absolutely. Until aliens conquer the planet and abolish the whole concept of money you will always need some of it in some form in order to eat and survive.
Basically, if as a youngster fresh out of school you pursue happiness with zero attention to the money then you have fun for a remarkably short time and then crash and fail and end up living with your parents again. Which will probably make you unhappy for the rest of your life.
