Should abortion be legal?

Should heart surgery be legal? Of course. I feel as of it is another operation that is voluntarily chosen by the female seeking the abortion. The women should be able to walk into a doctor's office and receive abortive services if possible. Of course doctor should also be allowed to charges fees for the operation (as all operation do).

I don't understand how you are comparing an operation that saves someone's life to an operation that ends someone's life.

Side: No.

This is a tuff one, mostly because there are to many reason that one might consider abortion. I love how this place is mostly private, so let me explain something about me. I was married to the worst man ever. After our first son arrived he became very controlly of me. There was red flags before this that I can see now looking back. But at the time I met him I was just 14, I feel hard for him. But he would show up with roses and he swept me off my feet. He was very charming in the beginning. Only that over time he became more and more controlly. The first time he hit me, he left a night black eye. His cousin seen it and threatened him, told him if he ever seen any more marks on me again he would beat his ass. Excuse my choice of words. I was 17 at that point. And I left him. Only for him to show up two weeks later pretending that we were still together. My brother met him at the door told him I didn't want to see him and told him to leave. Not sure what he said to my brother but he came in and said he only wants to talk. My brother didn't know about the black eye. I was stupid and I went back with him. And a month before my 19th bday I gave birth to my first son. We later married and it was like he changed for the worse, drinking every day, blowing up over small things, If I went any where with my mom, I got in trouble. He had 100% control over me. I was not allowed to drive. I felt like death would be better than living in this secret prison. And secret it was, I never told anyone about any of this. A year after we married he forced him self on me, more than once. This came to me becoming pregnant again, here I am bring another child into this house. This horrible world that I new. I became depressed and scared. My husband tried to force me to get an abortion. But in my mind even though I feel abortion in rape and incest should be allowed, I couldn't bring my self to do it. I hated him for even bringing it up. My son who is now 11 years old, has no idea he was made in a horrid voilent way, and he has no idea his father tired to kill him. I left that ass hole 10 years ago. I found the courage and strength to leave, because I couldn't allow my two boys to be raised in that house hold. Where I was being treated so bad in front of them. Showing my boys that it was ok to beat on a women. I disagree about making this option illegal, I my self could never have one. But sometimes having this option, this choice for the most horrid crimes commented agianst women, is needed. Most people say there is always adoption but the truth be told, is that we have so many kids in the system, I could never give my child away. Not ever knowing if he or she is warm and fed. Idk this is my view on this subject..

Been through this. My first wife had health problems. Her Dr. said she would likely not live through another pregnancy. At the time, in our state all abortions had to be approved by one Dr. (Catholic). He did not approve her doctors appeal, even "without" his personal exam! Our doctor was livid. He had delivered my wife at birth...and our earlier two children. Afraid for my wife, he gave her an illegal (unapproved) abortion. She had two more years with our other two daughters, (5 and 7 at the time) then died at 29. We will always be grateful for our doctors love and bravery!

I'm not in favor of "frivolous" abortions, but, give a devout Christian an inch and they'll take a mile...just like that abortion "god" from our state! It MUST be a choice, let the "other GOD" decide, Christians.

Yes, in most unwanted pregnancies abortion is going to happen anyway, only the legal surgical procedure eliminates the back street butchers and almost all the ensuing dangerous side affects.

Side: Yes.

Yes. Ultimately it comes down to rights. I dont see any justification for forcing a woman against her will to endure labor for 9 months and then deliver. Nothing has the right to dictate that except for the woman. I do not think a fetus is a person nor do i think it should have rights. And even if it was a person with rights it is dependent on the woman allowing it to live in her womb and that is a decision that rests with her alone. If you are pro-life, you are pro-forces labor. There is no way around this dilemma.

Side: Yes.

Does a woman have the right to an abortion under the U.S. Constitution? If someone is a strict constructionist who interprets the Constitution word for word, the sanction for abortion is given under the Fourteenth Amendment.

The Fourteenth Amendment of our U.S. Constitution defines a citizen “a citizen” at birth. If a woman is carrying a fetus in the womb, the U.S. Constitution does not designate the fetus as “a citizen.” It would take an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to declare a fetus a citizen. You have to be born in order to be recognized as a citizen. Therefore, a woman does have the right to choose. A fetus inside the womb is not designated as a citizen according to the U.S. Constitution so by default is not entitled to life, liberty, or prosperity. You have to be born in order to be endowed with those privileges. To conclude, neither the Federal government nor any of the States can deny a woman the right to choose.

If abortion is murder, abortion would have been terminated years ago due to the cruel and unusual punishment clause under the Eighth Amendment. Again, proof that a fetus is not recognized as a citizen of the United States of America.

No, I see it as a loss of life no matter how young the fetus is. The only time I see it fit is if the mother is in danger.

What do you mean by "life"? Are you referring to it in the sense that it kills something that is /alive/, or that it terminates a /life experience/, or something else?

If the former, do you have a deontological reason against killing what is alive?

Life begins at conception. The body is slowly formed. Therefore, abortion is killing something that is "alive".

Side: Yes.

Conception? This words means so much to different people. I was raped and this lead to my second child, it also lead me to get my tubes tied at 22 years old. I didn't want another child being brought into the world I lived in and being made because of rape by my husband. I can't count how many times I was raped by him. I never considered abortion as an option because in was young and I was confused, was I even raped? I questioned this so many times because he was my husband, can your husband rape you? Yes he can! Did I have an abortion? No I didn't but should we make this choice illegal? No we should not. To many girls are raped by there father or brother or someone else and they get pregnant. This choice alone can save them from having to relive this night made over and over AGIAN.

Don't let it happen. 911 is the number. Rape is illegal. But abortion should be. If you don't wont the child don't kill the poor thing. Send the child to an orphanage. No need to kill it. DO NOT KILL AN INNOCENT CHILD. JUST DON'T!!!!!!!

You think it's perfectly acceptable to force rape victims to endure labor for 9 months against their will and give birth to an unwanted child?

Then you think it's absolutely fine to force that child to live the hard, miserable life of a foster child, being passed from family to family and never knowing who their parents are? In my opinion your reasoning is flawed.

Side: No.

Why should it be legal? Its strait up murder. These children are still alive.would u feel bad murdering a child. The child is alive just like u. Think about it. How would u fell if your mother was going to kill u. What about the people who changed the world for the better had died when they were born. The child your about to kill could possibly change the world for the better. Major changes in the future could change the world for the bad without your child that u killed. NO!!!!!!!! Abortion should not be legal.

The only reason is if it is about to hurt your heath. Then you should be able to. Not just because you don't want the child.

No child should come into the world unwanted.

Also, what if the child was conceived through rape?

Side: Yes.

No. Thou shalt not kill. I believe that a human life begins at conception and the burden is on you to prove me wrong. Murder is bad.

Precisely. Pro-Death abortionists claim that abortion is simply removing a clump of cells and not murdering a human being. So the burden of proof is on you. Go ahead, we're listening.
